Eye tests are a key part in making sure your eyes stay healthy. You may need to start wearing glasses or contact lenses or you need to change your prescription. Another important reason is the detection of some common medical conditions.
The following procedures outline how we care for your vision.
To make an appointment click HotDoc or phone our friendly staff on 03 9583 4522. Using our Hotdoc service, you can check the availability of a suitable time for you to visit our clinic.
We will conduct a comprehensive eye examination to assess your eye health and visual performance. We use Optical coherence tomography (OCT), a non-invasive imaging method that uses reflected light to create pictures of the back of your eye. It can be used to diagnose and manage diseases like diabetes-related retinopathy and glaucoma. During the consultation, vision correction options would be discussed.
It may be time to update your glasses in which case, one of our qualified and experienced Optical Dispensers will offer individualised frame and lens recommendations. Our team is trained to interpret the prescription and through discussion with the patient, offer an individualised frame and lens recommendation. Our lenses are manufactured at either one of our two lens laboritory partners, Zeiss and CR Labs.
Lens recommendations can consist of the following, Single vision distance or reading, Occupational lenses (ideal for office workspace) or progressive lenses. Prescription polarised sunglasses are also available and often recommended for vision correction and their superior ability to eliminate glare.
Precision and accuracy play such an important role in creating a successful and comfortable pair of glasses. Updates in technology and machinery such as our CR Tower allow us to gather individual frame fit data. This clever device measures patient pupil positions, frame wrap and tilt, as well as the distance that the frame is positioned from the eye.
The Australis VR headset allows us to gather information about a patient's "gaze dynamic" allowing us to further customise a multifocal lens for each patient's eye and head movement patterns.
Or you may prefer contact lenses. We can supply contact lens options from our range of suppliers including Alcon, Bausch & Lomb, Coopervision and Johnson and Johnson.
Upon collection of your glasses, one of our optical dispensers will assess the visual performance of the new glasses with the you and customise the fitting of the frame to fit comfortably and securely.
We also like to suggest that you assess the comfort of your new glasses over a day or two, and return if any fine tuning of the frame adjustment is required.
All frame servicing and adjustments are offered as part of the service and incur no cost.
